This Vietnamese American wedding is a story of two weddings in one at Saint Kate Arts Hotel in Milwaukee - a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony to begin, followed by a traditional American wedding ceremony. More than that, it was a journey through the story of this delightful couple - Liz and Daniel. We helped execute three room flips in the stately and dramatic Arc Theater to transform the space into three distinct looks. What a magnificent journey it became!
Vietnamese Tea Ceremony - Lucky Red Softened with Citrus Shades
For the Vietnamese tea ceremony, red was the dominant color for the decor. Liz wanted the florals to soften this with a citrus palette of color and soft greenery. We created a flowing garland of hanging pepperberry and olive foliage to cap the backdrop of the altar and a pair of statement florals to be frame the table. Luscious ranunculus in shades of apricot, pink, orange, and red played beautifully with the bowl of clementines playing a symbolic role in the ceremony.
Classic White Bridal Bouquet with Orchids
For Liz's bridal bouquet, soft and luscious petals reigned supreme. White majolica spray roses, ranunculus, and phalaenopsis moth orchids created the sculptural shape for this look.
Floral Dog Collars
Not to be left out, the couples' dogs played a special role in both the Vietnamese and American ceremonies. See them dressed here for the American portion, with floral collar wreaths and dapper tuxes.
Saint Kate - A Fine Art Wedding
Weddings at Saint Kate, the Arts Hotel get to enjoy the gorgeous surrounding space, for vignette backdrops like no other wedding venue.
Babies Breath Illusion Arch Pillars
For the American ceremony, Liz wanted pure, clean, classic white. We created these ethereal pillars as a ceremony backdrop. Also called an illusion arch, these pieces are filled with babies breath, white roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, and dusty miller.
After the ceremony, we placed these behind the sweetheart table for continued drama.
For the guest tables, we created clouds of babies breath to dot the table tops, interspersed with white pillar candles in assorted heights. Soft and flowing, with the warm glow of candlelight - so gorgeous.
Babies Breath Cloud Centerpieces
And the citrus palette made a comeback in the reception, framing the photo backdrop and lounge area.

Vietnamese Wedding Traditions
And the cake! We dried slices of citrus fruit to pair with the florals and special topper for this fun cake. Definitely one of our favorite cakes to style.
We loved every minute of this Saint Kate wedding in Milwaukee. Thanks to Liz and Daniel for inviting us to be part of creating their day.
