Some of our top advice to anyone starting to plan their wedding flowers? Leverage your floral designer’s expertise! Find a wedding florist who is an expert and let them guide you.

So many couples come to us with the idea that they need to have a fully-formed design vision, complete with flower types and a complete catalog of design inspo. They’re often stressed out and feeling the weight of this design burden because, even though they know they love flowers, they don’t know much about them, and this leaves them feeling vulnerable. Because let’s face it – flowers are not cheap. And they shouldn’t be. And wedding flowers are high stakes. They absolutely don’t want to get this wrong.
Where does this idea come from – that you need to decide on the specifics of your wedding flowers and then go find a florist who will create them? Perhaps it used to work this way or perhaps this is the way some florists work, but it is absolutely not how we work.

Uncovering your style, story, and dreams and then turning them into a magical floral experience for you and your guests is our zone of genius, our super power. We want you to leverage it and let us do the heavy lifting.
Let go of the idea that you have to carry this burden of design. Bring us your colors, yes, your inspo where you have it – what fires you up, speaks to your soul, and then tell us your story. Share your opinions, where you have them, and then leave the rest to us.
Don’t limit your dreams by the flowers you know, or what you find on Pinterest. We’re not order takers or fulfillment workers. We’re visionaries. And we’re passionate about putting this expertise and out-of-the-box mastery to work for you. (And this passion is most often expressed with wild gesturing by Mary Jo)

It’s a pro tip so good that Wedding Chicks featured it in this recent article about reducing decision fatigue. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments below.
